When I'm Alone

When I'm alone, and the evening comes
I look for something, to break, my chains
They fasten me, to safety and mundane
But looking out, I know that I'm to blame

We are alone, all following a line
We have our comforts, we reach for all the time
They carry us through, but the days all look the same
Well you know, we're all playing the same game

A friend of mine, couldn't take the strain
He ran to something, to alleviate his pain
He sold out, his life for evermore
Hit the top, before he hit the floor
